Koto Japanese Restaurant in Jackson

I came with my brother for hibachi, and the chefs seemed pretty unenthusiastic and tired of entertaining customers. Not much variety or spontaneity with the tricks, but the food itself was alright. The sashimi, on the other hand tasted delicious, but overall I would not return there for hibachi.

Dined here last evening, my first time since it had been Shogun under previous management. I was very impressed. Lovely decor. Staff is very friendly and our waitress was great. Our hibachi chef was also a lot of fun, kind, accommodating, and entertaining. I loved the miso soup, too. I and other diners commented that we wish their noodles were a bit thicker (as these were more like capellini). Also, the portions are noticeably smaller (which I is really fine, I'm just used to having a full meal to take home with me). Pricing is comparable to other hibachi restaurants in the area. I wish Koto much success!

Great food awesome atmosphere...

Called for reservation got there told us that there was no reservations its has happened twice to us at the same restaurants person in charge is rude and unprofessional. He asked for our phone to make sure that we had called in for reservation and even at that point after checking phone he refused to seat us. Will never go back.

Wow,I was definitely surprised,I don't like to give 5 stars but we'll worth it,the whole staff was very good,chef.put on a great show,from flipping food in your mouth,sake shooters thru a squeeze bottle,sips of water also,real good timing,funny if you engage him,,I ordered lobster and medium rare fillet mignon,nice is all I'll say,comes with rice,noodles,vegetables,soup,salad,also ordered shrimp tempura and jalapeno tuna,also nice,,I'll update on my next visit because it warrants another one,nice looking place

Our hibachi chef was fantastic, he had an amazing personality and my fiance and I had a great time

I visit KOTO several times a week! Their food is wonderfully fresh, their chefs make delicious rolls & dishes and the staff knows us and our likes & dislikes to a T. Highly recommend.

Tasty..good sushi.

This is a local place that I go to quite often. They have hibachi, sushi and regular sit down available and the food is always good. The best hibachi chef is uncle tony. He puts on a great show if you have kids in your party and adjusts it for adults if it is an all adult party. I have taken my kids there for birthday parties and they all love it. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks. Great family atmosphere that is relaxed and inviting.

Date night with my favorite guy. Arrived at 9p on Friday so the place was only about half full. We were seated immediately at a hibachi table with 2 other couples. Our server was great. The chef cooked the food well enough (my steak was perfectly medium rare but my chicken was over done); his tricks needed more practice but his aim with the sake bomb was right on! Yum! He was a bit stiff and tho he knew the script, I think that was all the English he knew. I asked him a couple of questions to get him engaged and he just looked at me blankly. My only complaint is that the sauces weren't what I was expecting; the ginger sauce was bland and watery and instead of mustard sauce they serve yum-yum sauce. I was disappointed. That said, my 12 year old date enjoyed the entire experience and I did enjoy the meal as a whole. We had a great time and will go again!

Other hibachi places give much more food than koto but the price is exactly the same. I don’t understand why this has happened but it’s very disappointing.

I go there all the time they have very good food very good sushi me and my wife we always go there one of our favorite places very quiet during lunch time and the atmosphere is very dark inside but very cool colorful lights that they have inside.

My wife and I got so sick today after eating here. When we called to report it, the staff/Frankie literally said they were too busy and hung up on us. Please stay far away from this place.

Hibachi is phenomenal every time we go! They're so lively and kind there! Atmosphere is very warm.Sushi was also amazing. Very great pricing for great poritions and great taste! Never had a bad visit there.

Wonderful experience! We ordered for delivery. The food tasted great, arrived quickly and everything that was supposed to be hot stayed hot. Lovely delivery driver too!

Love the atmosphere at the hibachi, and the salad dressing

Ate at the sushi bar. Sushi was good. Tasted fresh. Not a huge selection, but that's not necessarily bad. Staff was friendly. Very dark inside. Dirty, tons of dust all over the illuminated statues behind the sushi chefs. Fly paper hanging all over from the ceiling near the sushi bar.

This is probably the best restaurant I have ever been too. And it’s definitely my favorite. When you walk inside you are instantly greeted by the friendly staff. You get free soup and salad. The salad dressing is VERY good! I bought like four containers of it. The actual entree is very delicious too. They put an exceptional sauce on the noodles. Also the rice is perfectly made. Other than the food, the entertainment is outstanding. The chefs are always keeping everyone satisfied and smiling. Overall, I would definitely recommend you go here.

Very good hibachi. And loved our chef tonight. He was fun and seasoned the food perfectly.

I love this place ! We come for all types of occasions $$$ .. the sushi is always fresh and hibachi cooks are lively and entertaining. The only downside is everything in the beginning seems to come too fast (if that makes sense).. the food is excellent but i rather soup, then salad, then the appetizer Etc ...not evething at once... but AGAIN the food was really great.. the salad was fresh & the dressing was SOO GOOD one of my favorite things about Koto is that house salad dressing & "freshness" (just wish i had a little more time to enjoy all of it) you always have left overs... they just seem to always be busy ..I guess you can't let people sit & eat too long. 👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤

Delicious food, great portions, and a very friendly atmosphere 😊

We were there for New Year's with a large group. 2 full tables that included a couple of children. The food that included great sushi was excellent. It all arrived hot.

Food is outstanding the staff not so much

My family and I went here on a Wednesday in the winter. It took forever for our food which was “decent” but nothing to write home about. There was very few people at the restaurant. I’d try again but wasn’t won over with the experience.

Had a decent lunch here. Hibachi chef that cooked our food was semi- entertaining. I had the steak hibachi and my son the chicken. My son is a child and there is no child lunch available (Same size portion as dinner minus the 1 piece of shrimp).

Reasonable price

Fun and inviting chef. Meats were tender and cooked to perfection. Very accommodating to vegan and meat lovers alike.

Great local Hibachi place in Jackson, NJ. Enjoyed the fresh food and entertainment as always. However I wish they would go a little easier on salt! Great service funny cook 👨‍🍳 and they have kept the place very clean. We have been going to this place with my sister’s family for many years. And I am sure we will be going back again soon!

AMAZING! If you're looking to try a new Sushi place, you've got to put this restaurant at the top of the list. We were a party of six, so we had a variety to choose from! Can't wait to get back!
